Although the big names are already apparent, it's this time of the year where hidden gems are discovered. Flower Mound offensive lineman Christopher Miles fits that category.
Miles isn't exactly under the radar however; he holds offers from FBS programs UTEP, North Texas, Louisiana Tech, San Diego State, Nevada, Texas State and Navy. Boasting a 4.7 GPA, Miles also holds offers from Harvard, Yale and Penn.
TCU has started to recently show interest in Miles and invited him to their recent lineman camp last week. Miles felt he benefitted making the short drive south to participate in the camp.
"I felt like I showcased my athleticism and good form," Miles said of TCU's camp. "Overall, I felt like I had good mechanics. I got a lot of good coaching and I felt like I could be molded into the type of player they want."
Miles said the interest picked up from the Frogs after his coach, Cody Moore a former defensive tackle at TCU, gave a heads up to TCU coaches.
"I hadn't really talked with them that much but my coach, Coach Moore called up there and that's when it all started," he said. "They asked him about me; it's a good connection."
The rising lineman isn't completely familiar with TCU's program, but Miles knows the Frogs do boast a winning tradition. A tradition he feels will continue to get stronger.
"I know they've always been in the running, but the past few years they've made even bigger strides," he said. "I feel like the program is really picking up for them. I feel like big things are coming for them."
