James, at 5-foot-9, 160-pounds, isn't the biggest prospect on the field, especially at quarterback. However, what he lacks in size, he makes up for with game-breaking speed.
It was James's first start at quarterback this season after starter Keaton Perry went down with an injury last week. The bad news...his first start was against Dallas Skyline. James finished with decent numbers on the night after Skyline jumped out to a big 38-0 lead. James completed 8-of-11 passes for 111 yards with 3 touchdowns. He added 36 yards on the ground. James doesn't project at quarterback in college and will likely end up as a slot receiver; which is where TCU has offered him. James is electric in the open space, rarely getting tackled by one defender. Despite his smaller stature, James is strong and can break tackles. Whichever college lands him will have a big time weapon in the slot.
