Newsome isn't the biggest guy on the field but he plays much bigger when he has the ball in his hands. At 5'9" and 170 pounds, the cat-quick athlete makes plays from everywhere on the field. Lining up in the slot, taking direct snaps in the Wildcat formation or returning kicks or punts, Newsome does it all. With his size and gamebreaking speed, he would fit in nicely as a slot receiver for in TCU's offense.
Wherever Newsome lined up, he dominated. There wasn't a player on the field that could cover him and he has the explosion to house it anytime he touches the ball. Even though he lined up as a punt returner, the Arlington Heights punter never gave him a chance to return one, intentionally kicking the ball out of bounds numerous times. On offense, Newsome hauled in 3 receptions for 78 yards and ran the ball 5 times for 57 yards and a TD on a direct snap from the center. If he was called on to touch the ball 20 plus times per game, he would put up jaw dropping numbers but with Aledo running over with playmakers, Newsome doesn't have to be a one man band. Through 4 games this year, Newsome has put up over 500 yards of total yardage and he continues to find ways to make an impact.
