"We've got a chip on our shoulder."

TCU basketball held its media day on Tuesday, and Trent Johnson as well as players Jarvis Ray and Karviar Shepherd spoke with the media about their expectations for the 2013-2014 season.

Trent Johnson will readily tell you that he is not sure he can "go through" another season like 2012 again.

Amassing just two conference wins, TCU struggled through its first season in the Big 12 as injuries sapped much of the roster's talent and depth.

Johnson met with the media Tuesday and joked that they should get their questions out now while he is still in a good mood.

He has reason to be in a good mood with four talented freshman and Amric Fields and Jarvis Ray coming back from injury to reinfuse the roster with talented.

The often-pilloried basketball program appears to be on the rise with transfers Chris Washburn and Trey Ziegler also waiting in the wings.

Johnson's team will scrimmage Arkansas-Fort Smith on Friday at 7 p.m. central time.

One week later, TCU will take on SMU at the American Airlines Center.

Johnson as well as Karviar Shepherd and Jarvis Ray spoke with the media yesterday. Videos of their interviews are below:
