Carter Keeping An Open Mind

Trey Carter has been one of the fastest rising prospects in the 2014 class.

Dallas Pinkston defensive end Trey Carter has seen his recruitment skyrocket in recent months and for good reason. Now rated as a four-star and nation's No. 34 defensive end, Carter has added offers from coast to coast.

Teams such as TCU, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Miami, Tennessee and Texas Tech have offered the 6-foot-4, 250-pounder.

Carter finished his senior season with huge numbers; 18 sacks and 30 tackles for loss.

Carter was initially scheduled to visit Oklahoma last week for the Sooners game against Iowa State. Instead, he made his way down to Mississippi State.

"Oh, man it was awesome," Carter told Scout.com's Steve Robertson on his Mississippi State visit. "I had a great time and they all showed me and my family a great time. I loved everything about it."

Earlier in the process Carter had mentioned a few schools as his early leaders. One of those schools included TCU but the big end has taken a step back and isn't naming favorites at the moment; saying every school has a chance to land him.

"No sir open minded it's about what program fit me best and who gone push me to my full potential." He said. "And to get me my college degree."

As for TCU, Carter says the Frogs are still very much in contact and he plans on visiting the campus next weekend.

"Yes sir they want me up for the Baylor game," he said.

Carter is on his official visit to Oklahoma State this weekend.
