With official visits set for this weekend to Colorado, and next weekend to Cal, the Fields' family says they're working on setting up a visit to TCU on the 31st but it's not set in stone yet.
"Shay wants to go down to TCU to visit on the 31st but we're waiting to hear back from the coaches" said Fields' father, Shay Fields, Sr.
A Semper Fidelis All-American, Fields played in the game with a couple of TCU commits in Ty Barrett and Nick Orr. Fields says they didn't talk a lot, but what he heard from the two made him want to see TCU and Fort Worth for himself.
"I talked to them some, but not a lot" said Fields. "They were just telling me to come on and be a Frog and about how the city was great."
"I just want to come check out the city and talk to the coaches."
Like many other prospects, it's important to Fields how he feels when he's on campus. He says a couple of things will let him know if it's a good fit or not.
"I want to see where I'll fit in on the offense and I want to go over the depth chart with them" he said. "I want to see how I feel there."
When asked if TCU's new offensive system appeals to him he was short and to the point.
"Yes, highly." Fields says he plans on calling the TCU staff tonight or tomorrow to confirm the visit to Fort Worth. We'll have more on this story as it develops so as always, stay logged on to HornedFrogBlitz.com for the latest.
