Durham A Top Target For TCU

TCU already has two linebacker commits for their 2015 class and are targeting others including Plano East's Landis Durham.

TCU signed two linebackers as part of their 2014 class and have already landed two commitments for the 2015 class. However, the Frogs would love to add another linebacker for the 2015 class to join Alec Dunham and Semaj Thomas.

TCU hosted their second junior day last Saturday and among the talented prospects in attendance was Plano East linebacker Landis Durham.

The 6-foot-3, 225-pounder has been a starter for East since his sophomore year. As a sophomore he was named district 10-5A defensive newcomer of the year and last season as a junior he picked up second team honors after recording 91 tackles with 2 sacks and 2 interceptions.

SMU, Boise State, Washington, Boston College and Tulsa had already offered the nation's No. 12 middle linebacker prospect. On Saturday, he received his sixth offer when TCU offered during his visit.

"It's always huge to get a great offer that's close to home," he said. "I was really excited."

The big linebacker is being recruited by new quarterbacks coach Sonny Cumbie. Cumbie and head coach Gary Patterson visited Plano East a few weeks ago and made a good impression on Durham during his visit to TCU.

"They both seem like two very committed coaches," Durham said of Cumbie and Patterson.

Durham says several things stand out about the Frogs and considers them as one of his top schools at the moment.

"TCU is very comfortable place for me as a student, athlete, and a person," Durham said. "I am most certainly interested in them as a future plan."
