Belton Discusses TCU Offer

West Monroe 2016 quarterback Jon Randall Belton visited TCU on Thursday.

TCU held their fourth practice of spring camp on Thursday afternoon, also marking the first scrimmage. Just over a handful of prospects were in attendance; one of those being a familiar name; West Monroe quarterback Jon Randall Belton.

Belton is no stranger to TCU either, having visited the Ft. Worth campus multiple times since last summer. This trip however brought the best news since he started to be recruited by the Frogs; he received an offer.

Last summer Belton was one of the top quarterbacks at a one day camp and has stayed firm on the Frogs' radar ever since. Belton, who also holds offers from Louisiana, Louisiana Tech, Mississippi State and Georgia Tech, was excited to receive his first Big 12 offer.

"It was truly a blessing; it was really exciting," Belton said. "It's my first Big 12 offer. I've been to TCU three or four times already and each time I find something else that I like about it. It was really cool; I got to talk to Coach P today in his office about football and about life really. It was really nice."

One of the differences in this visit compared to other visits was a chance to see the Frogs' new offense. The 6-foot-3, 207-pound Belton liked what he saw.

"I watched the whole practice and it looked like a really fun offense," he said. "It looks like they're in the spread a little more with more pistol. It looked like a really fun offense."

Belton also had the opportunity to speak with new offensive coaches Doug Meacham and Sonny Cumbie.

"They're great guys; they look like they're going to help TCU's offense tremendously this year," he said. "They about business but they're going to have fun also."

Up next for Belton is a trip to South Bend in two weeks to make an unofficial visit to Notre Dame.

"It's not a junior day, but I'm going unofficially to Notre Dame on March 21st to see them," Belton finished.
