The Frogs have a few targets they're heavily pursuing and among them is Corpus Christi Flour Bluff cornerback Jalen Campbell.
The 5-foot-11, 160-pounder is currently committed to Texas, but that commitment is a soft one at the moment as he continues to evaluate other options; among them is TCU. Campbell says the Frogs are a team he's been keeping a close eye on even before his pledge to Texas.
"Whenever the new (Texas) staff got in there and they started to reevaluate me and my family decided to open up my recruitment and reevaluate too," he said. "Before I committed to Texas, TCU was one of the schools I liked. Once I opened it up, TCU was definitely a school I started talking with more."
Campbell says he's liked the Frogs for as long as he can remember.
"Since I was little it was always TCU, Texas and Baylor that I liked because I'm a Texas kid," he said. "I have family in Dallas and I've just liked them since I was little."
Campbell recently attended the Dallas Nike Football Training Camp where he was considered one of the better defensive backs in attendance. Following his performance, Campbell made the drive west to TCU's campus for an unofficial visit.
"It was good, I liked the campus and was offered," he said of his visit. "I definitely liked the coaches and excited (about the offer)."
With the ability to play corner or safety at the next level, Campbell already has a good grasp of the Frogs' defense.
"My freshman year we put in the 4-2-5 at our school and my coach is always up at TCU so I've kind of got a feel for it," Campbell said. "A lot of schools tell me corner but I think if I put on a bunch of weight I could play safety."
Following his visit to TCU, does Campbell consider the Frogs among his favorites?
"Yes, definitely," Campbell finished.
