TCU Among Many After Patterson

Shreveport (LA) Calvary Baptist 2016 quarterback Shea Patterson is a coveted prospect.

Several top quarterbacks from the Midlands Region made their way to Arlington last Sunday to participate in the Dallas Elite 11 competition.

Although 2015 prospects were the prospects in line to receive invitations to the finals, some underclassmen turned some heads at the event. Among them was Shreveport (LA) Calvary Baptist 2016 quarterback Shea Patterson.

Patterson liked seeing how he matches up against guys competing to be the best.

"It was great to see all of the quarterbacks and be able to throw with all of these upperclassmen to see where I stood," Patterson said. "We had so many good guys out there and it was good to compete."

Patterson has been a long time commitment to Arizona; committing to the Wildcats nearly a year ago. That hasn't stopped others from pursuing the four-star quarterback. Alabama, Auburn, Akron, California, Clemson, Louisiana Tech, Mississippi and TCU have all offered Patterson.

The offer from the Horned Frogs came a few months ago according to Patterson. He hopes to visit TCU along with the other schools that have offered this summer.

"They offered me a couple of months ago and I've been staying in good contact with them," he said. "It's been with Coach (Jarrett) Anderson. I haven't visited TCU yet but I'm definitely trying to get up there this summer. I'm trying to visit all of the schools that have offered me."

Patterson doesn't know much about TCU's program at the moment, but one of his favorite college quarterbacks played there.

"One of my favorite quarterbacks in college played there; Andy Dalton."

"I don't know too much but one of my favorite quarterbacks in college played there; Andy Dalton," Patterson said. "I just want to get up there and learn more about them."

Still a solid commitment to Arizona, Patterson says a few schools are showing more interest than the others.

"One coach that came in this spring was Coach Morris from Clemson," he said. "Arkansas has come to watch me throw and I've been to Ole Miss twice."
