A few months ago, TCU landed one of the best kept secrets in Texas when Yoakum athlete Tre'vontae Hights committed to the Horned Frogs.
Since his commitment, the 6-foot-3, 175-pounder's recruitment has been relatively quiet. However, that's changed in recent weeks as two more prominent programs have found the playmaker and have him squarely on their radar; Texas and Stanford.
Both programs have visited Yoakum recently, Texas visited on Tuesday earlier this week. For Hights, the extra attention knows the hard work he's putting in is producing results.
"It's pretty good definitely feeling, I'm honored and respected," he said. "(It proves) that hard work paid off and others are seeing it."
Hights was visited by new Longhorn running backs coach Tommie Robinson. Hights says he's unsure what position the Longhorns see him as, but they want the chance to see him perform in person.
"They want me to come to a camp," he said. "I was looking to attend one of them."
Despite the new interest, Hights says things are the same as ever with his commitment to TCU.
"We're still doing great!" he said. "Things are going real well."
Hights says he will attend a camp at TCU later this summer and also plans to make a return visit to Ft. Worth very soon.
"I'll probably go to the one in Houston. That's my plan I'm and also going on another visit (to TCU)," he finished.
