Arlington Bowie is already home to one of the nation's top offensive line prospects in Madison Akamnonu. Although the big 6-foot-6, 270-pounder is drawing most of the interest, his counterpart at the other end of the offensive line is drawing some increased interest as well.
That prospect is Clyde McCauley.
The 6-foot-4, 270-pounder is generating some attention of his own since the spring and is nearing double-digit offers.
In addition to the offers he holds, McCauley is generating some heavy interest from others. TCU is among the schools taking a hard look at McCauley and the big linemen performed well at a recent lineman camp.
McCauley says he's noticed the interest pick up from the Frogs.
"They were actually the only school that came to my spring game so I've started to get more interest from TCU," he said.
Although TCU has built a pipeline to Bowie in recent years and his former coach, cornerbacks coach Kenny Perry is on staff, McCauley admits he doesn't know much about the Frogs' program.
"I don't know much but I know they're a good team though," he said. "I really don't know much about the program though."
What is he looking for in a program?
"I'm mainly looking at academics and if the team wins football games," he said. "Those are the most important."
McCauley says he hopes to make summer visits to Texas State, Rutgers and Fresno State.
