Two years ago Jarvis Baxter was on the radar of several programs coming out of Garland (TX) Lakeview Centennial. After one season at Trinity Valley Community College, the 5-foot-11, 165-pounder is seeing his recruitment pick up once again.
Baxter led TVCC during the 2013 season, hauling in 49 catches for 767 yards. He was named to the All-SWJCF team for his efforts.
Currently the fleet receiver holds three offers and is hearing from a few others.
TCU recruited Baxter while he was at Lakeview Centennial so he already has a good familiarity with the coaching staff. He attended a Frogs’ mini-camp in June and is hoping for an offer.
“Lately they’ve said to keep in touch with them and keep them posted on everything,” he said of TCU.
At the moment, Baxter says TCU stands out above the others. He’s also admitted if TCU comes forth with an offer, he likely won’t waste any time making a decision.
“TCU is my favorite then its UNT, New Mexico State and New Mexico,” he said of favorites.
Baxter will return to TVCC this month and continue to work hard to help his team win games and for him to garner more offers.
“I’m working out and getting better; trying to get more offers,” Baxter said. “I want to work hard and lead my team to some more victories this year and get more offers.”
