Lark nearing double-digit offers

Houston Bellaire 2016 receiver Courtney Lark is already one of the most coveted prospects in the nation.

Take a few minutes to watch Houston Bellaire 2016 receiver Courtney Lark and it’s easy to see why the four-star receiver is drawing big time interest.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder is currently rated as the No. 31 receiver in the nation and No. 149 overall prospect in the Top 300.

Lark has already picked up offers from Texas Tech, Baylor, Maryland, SMU, UNLV, Kentucky, Nebraska and TCU.

For someone that still has nearly years to go through the recruitment process, Lark is humbled by all of the early attention.

“It was real nice,” he said of receiving his first offer.

TCU was the fifth program to offer Lark. Frogs’ running backs coach Curtis Luper is recruiting Lark and according to Lark the coach extended an offer after a visit to his school in the spring.

Lark says he knows little of TCU’s program in general, but sees the benefits of a TCU education; especially in business.

“I know a little bit because one of my friends plays basketball at TCU and when she comes down for the summer she tells me it’s a nice campus and stuff like that,” he said. “I’m trying to study for business and I know they’re good in business.”

Lark has been busy this summer between camps and 7on7 and will visit Texas later this week. If all goes as planned, he should leave with an offer from the Longhorns.

“I’ve been to Baylor, Texas A&M and I’m going to Texas on the 18th,” Lark said. “Texas told me they’d probably offer me when I go down there.”

As for a TCU visit, Lark says he definitely would like to see the campus.

“I’ll probably visit them during the season and next summer,” he said.

Aside from wanting to find a good program to major in business, Lark says the style of offense will play a big factor in his decision. Like any receiver, he wants to find a place that throws the ball.

“Football wise, I want to go somewhere they throw the ball a lot because I want to make catches,” he said.
