Marble Falls, TX 2016 quarterback Brennen Wooten is already considered one of the top signal callers in the state regardless of classification.
Already rated a four-star and nation’s No. 13 quarterback prospect by Scout.com, Wooten is being pursued by programs nationwide. The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder already holds offers from Akron, Boise State, Clemson, Houston, Kentucky, TCU and Tulsa. Others including Texas and Oklahoma are showing him strong interest.
Wooten visited two campuses last week, first hitting TCU on Thursday and Texas on Friday.
The visit to TCU was Wooten’s second visit to the Ft. Worth campus; he previously attended a Frogs’ camp last June where he was the top quarterback in attendance.
The gunslinger made the unofficial visit this time with the rest of his family as he spent several hours on campus with quarterbacks coach Sonny Cumbie.
“(The visit) went very good,” Wooten said of his TCU visit. “We spent the day with Coach Cumbie and he showed my family around.”
The previous visit to TCU was spent mostly around the football facilities. This time, he had a chance to see everything on campus.
“They showed us everything,” Wooten said of his second visit.
With seven offers on the table and interest from others, Wooten isn’t short on options. As for TCU, the Frogs are in very good shape at the moment.
“TCU is a big player in my recruitment,” he finished.
