Round Rock, TX cornerback Brian Bullock waits patiently for his chance. While those who follow recruiting certainly know about his teammate Breylin Mitchell, Bullock is ready to create a bigger name for himself as a junior heading into the 2014 season.
The 2016 prospect is well on his way.
At 5-foot-11, 180-pounds, Bullock has perfect size and strength to match up with bigger receivers. He’s also got the speed and technique to battle smaller, quicker receivers. As a sophomore, Bullock was named first-team district 16-5A at cornerback.
TCU is among the schools showing early interest to Bullock. He was among 300-plus skill kids that attended the Frogs’ last mini-camp of the summer a few weeks ago.
“I thought I did really well, especially in the one-on-one’s,” he said of TCU’s camp. “I got as many reps as I could. They were quality reps.”
Bullock received positive feedback on his performance from some of the Frogs’ defensive coaches.
“I had a good talk with Coach Glasgow and Coach Perry,” he said. “They said some good things to me. They came down to see me in the spring too so I think they’re interested.”
In addition to TCU, Bullock is hearing from a few other Big 12 programs and one from the Pac-12.
As for TCU, it’s a school very high on Bullock’s list at the moment.
“I love the school; it’s a very good school with good academics and a very good football program,” Bullock said. “Their defense is also very good.”
