What makes Carter an impact player?

Sam Carter is the definition of a coach on the field. Heading in to his senior year, Carter has 36 games and 26 starts under his belt. With 120 career tackles, 14 TFL, 7 sacks, 9 INT's, 13 PBU's and 2 FF, Carter has entrenched himself as one of the all time great TCU defenders.

Carter came to TCU as a dual threat QB but like head coach Gary Patterson has done so many times, the defensive minded coach just had to have Carter on "his" side of the ball. The results speak for themselves.

Heading in to 2014 with an established reputation as a heady, ball hawking defender, Carter will also lay the lumber in run support. The talented senior has proven time and time again that he'll step up to make a big play when the defense needs it the most. In 2014, Carter will be called upon once again, but this time, he'll be asked to lead the charge and elevate TCU to the top of the Big 12.
