Nicholson Looking At Options

South Grand Prairie receiver Tony Nicholson comes up big in his team's win last week.

South Grand Prairie got a huge win last Friday when they defeated the heavily loaded South Oak Cliff squad 45-38 in overtime. Do-everything athlete Tony Nicholson played a huge role in the win, rushing for 72 yards and 1 touchdown on 3 carries while also hauling in 3 catches for 31 yards and another score.

Nicholson’s biggest play of the night happened on his 25-yard touchdown reception in overtime which ultimately gave the Warriors the win.

“It felt good; me and my team put our heart out there and we’ve been working so hard,” he said. “The win gives us a lot of momentum and we’re going to keep working hard and give them all we got.”

Nicholson, a one-time commit to Arizona State, re-opened his recruitment last week and has a few schools he’s been in heavy discussions with.

“I’ve been talking heavy to Baylor, San Diego State, TCU and just a few other schools,” he said.

Nicholson is still waiting on an offer from the Frogs. Although he hasn’t received an offer, Nicholson still holds TCU in high regards especially due to the fact his best friend Jaelan Austin is headed to the program.

“My best friend is going there so they’re very high in my books,” he said of TCU. “They’re recruiting me on offense and special teams. It could also be defense; it would just depend if I go there.”

For now, Nicholson is still making plans on where he intends to take visits.

“I don’t know what visits I’m going to take yet but I’m trying to schedule some with a few teams,” Nicholson finished.
