EYEBALL TEST:Lewis looks like a prototypical corner prospect at 5-foot-10, 170-pounds. Very athletic and can make plays on either side of the ball.
As it happens nearly every time we go see a talented corner, the action is limited. That was definitely the case on Friday for Lewis, who saw just two passes come his way all night. On both occasions Lewis recorded PBU's. Lewis smothered his receiver in coverage all night and basically took away one side of the field. Although he's not real heavy right now, he is extremely physical. When receivers tried to block him he made it known that he was going to be physical. On two occasions when Summit ran the ball his way, Lewis shed the receiver blocks and made the tackles. Lewis is seldom used on offense but when he is they're looking for a big play. Lewis gave them that late in the game with a long run to help set up a Mansfield score. As for where he should play, he's made the right choice focusing on cornerback as he is definitely a game changer on defense; regardless if he's in the play or not. TCU has a good one here and could play either boundary or field corner in Gary Patterson's 4-2-5 scheme.
