Jaelan Austin - South Grand Prairie

South Grand Prairie fell to 1-2 on the season after a 47-27 loss to Arlington Martin. SGP actually led the game early on before falling behind a scoring onslaught in the second half against Martin. Austin hauled in 3 catches in the loss.

GAME STATS: 5 catches, 86 yards; 1 rush, 6 yards

SEASON STATS: 16 catches, 343 yards, 3 TD; 5 rushes, 29 yards

Joseph Broadnax - Dallas Bryan Adams

Broadnax and his teammates fought hard against Seagoville but fell just short; 28-27. The Cougards scored with just over a minute left in the game but a penalty forced them to attempt the extra point 15-yards further. The kick was blocked and gave the Dragons the win. Broadnax drew double and sometimes triple teams on the night. Broadnax forced a fumble in the loss.

Alec Dunham - Coldspring

Coldspring fell to 1-2 on the season after a tough loss to the No. 2 ranked team in class 4A, Navasota; 35-14. Two early fumbles doomed the Trojans as Navasota turned the turnovers into two quick scores and put the Rattlers in front 14-0. Coldspring would tie the game at 14-14 but a 21-0 run by Navasota put the game away.

Darrion Flowers – Arlington Sam Houston

Sam Houston’s remarkable 2014 season is still going strong after a big 49-21 win over Dallas Kimball. The Texans are now 3-0 on the season. Flowers had his best game of the season at receiver, hauling in 7 catches for 169 yards which included a 47-yard touchdown. Flowers is averaging 22.4 yards per reception this season.

SEASON STATS: 10 catches, 224 yards; 5 rushes, 40 yards

Jeff Gladney - New Boston

New Boston improved to 2-1 on the season with a nice 35-20 win over Pittsburg. It’s the second consecutive win for New Boston and they are currently ranked No. 9 in Class 3A D1.

Tre'vontae Hights - Yoakum

Hights and his Yoakum teammates suffered their first loss of the season as they were beat by East Bernard 27-7. Hights was limited in the game as he completed just 3-of-7 passes for 22 yards. He added 55 yards on 12 carries. The Bulldogs fell to 2-1 on the season.

Cordel Iwuagwu - Spring Westfield

Spring Westfield improved to 2-1 on the season with a 36-27 win over North Shore. Westfield actually led the game 29-7 and survived a late comeback effort by North Shore. Westfield had another big day on offense as they amassed 480 total yards, including 255 on the ground.

Tony James - Arlington Bowie

James and Bowie had an off-week last week. They will play on the road at Colleyville-Heritage this week.

Julius Lewis - Mansfield

Mansfield won a nail-biter over their rival last Friday as they beat Mansfield Summit; 19-17. The Tigers used a late fourth-quarter touchdown to secure the win. Lewis wasn’t tested much on the night as just two passes went his direction. Lewis broke up both pass attempts. On offense, Lewis had a 30-yard run in the fourth quarter that helped the Tigers get the go-ahead score.

Breylin Mitchell - Round Rock

Mitchell returned to action and Round Rock recorded their first shutout of the season, blanking Copperas Cove 26-0. The Dragons limited Cove’s high-flying offense to just 176 yards of total offense. With the win, Round Rock improved to 2-1 on the season.

Niko Small - Arlington Bowie

Small and his Arlington Bowie teammates had a bye last week. They travel to Colleyville this week to battle Colleyville Heritage.

Jonathan Song - FW All Saints

Song converted on all five of his extra point attempts as All Saints rolled to their first victory of the season winning 51-6 over Dallas Greenhill. All Saints record sits at 1-2 overall.

Jarrison Stewart - Mesquite Horn

Stewart missed his second consecutive game due to injury and Horn missed him as they picked up their first loss of the season; losing to Chris Warren and Rockwall 26-14. Horn quarterback Chris Robison, who holds a TCU offer, threw for 284 yards and 2 scores in the loss.

J.F. Thomas - Dallas South Oak Cliff

South Oak Cliff fell to 0-3 on the season as they lost to Desoto; 53-13. Although the Bears lost, Thomas continues to have a good season as he recorded his third consecutive 100-yard game. He also scored his fourth touchdown of the season on a 70-yard reception in the first quarter.

Semaj Thomas - FW Southwest

Southwest struggled again on defense as they lost their third game of the season, this time to Mansfield Legacy; 59-24. The Raiders gave up over 500 yards of total offense for the second consecutive week.

Jonathan Marshall - Shepherd

Shepherd improved to 3-0 on the season with another big performance; beating Splendora 61-16. Marshall continued his successful season by recording three tackles and recovering a fumble.

Brennen Wooten - Marble Falls

Marble Falls improved to 2-1 on the season with a convincing 40-7 win over Boerne. In a game featuring two of the top quarterbacks in the nation, Wooten and Boerne’s Quinten Dormady, Wooten had the better showing on the night as he complete 18-of-30 passes for 227 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also added two rushing touchdowns on the night. Wooten is averaging 346 passing yards per game.
