Commitment Recap: Week 3

Week 3 of Texas high school football action is complete and once again Frog commits turned in some big performances.

Jaelan Austin - South Grand Prairie

South Grand Prairie improved to 2-2 on the season with a convincing 42-19 win over traditional power Abilene Cooper. The Warriors racked up 425 yards of offense on the night. Austin continued to play on both sides of the ball and hauled in his fourth and fifth touchdown reception of the season in the win.

Joseph Broadnax - Dallas Bryan Adams

Broadnax and his Bryan Adams teammates had a bye last week. The Cougars open up 11-5A district play this Friday against Carrollton Newman Smith.

Alec Dunham - Coldspring

Dunham and his Coldspring teammates improved to 2-2 on the season with a big 47-7 win over Cleveland. Dunham played limited snaps after the Trojans broke out to a big lead but he still managed 3 tackles and 70 all-purpose yards.

Darrion Flowers – Arlington Sam Houston

Flowers and his Sam Houston teammates had a bye last week. They open district play this Thursday against Arlington Bowie.

Jeff Gladney - New Boston

Tre'vontae Hights - Yoakum

Yoakum got back in the win column and in big fashion with a huge 65-7 win over Luling. Hights didn’t play the whole game but still accounted for four scores on the night. The Bulldogs improved to 3-1 on the season.

James and his Bowie teammates won their second game of the season and improved to 2-1 on the year with a nice 45-34 win over a good Colleyville Heritage squad. James accounted for 195 yards in the win.

Mansfield won their second consecutive game as the defeated Ft. Worth Eastern Hills 27-7 last Thursday night. Lewis didn’t get tested much through the air as the Highlanders only tested him once which he broke up.

Breylin Mitchell - Round Rock

Mitchell and his Round Rock teammates won their third consecutive game of the season and this time it was over hated rival Stony Point, 17-13. The Dragons intercepted Stony Point three times to help secure the win.

Niko Small - Arlington Bowie

Small helped Aledo win their second game of the season as they defeated Colleyville Heritage by a score of 45-34. Small came up big in the win, collecting 10 tackles, a blocked field goal and a fumble recovery. The Volunteers improved to 2-1 on the season.

All Saints won their second consecutive game as they defeated St. Mark’s 30-13. With the win the Saints evened their record to 2-2 and are 2-0 in SPC play. Song kicked a season-long field goal of 51 yards in the win.

Jarrison Stewart - Mesquite Horn

Semaj Thomas - FW Southwest

Southwest fell to 0-4 on the season with a close loss to Ft. Worth Dunbar 37-32. The Raiders had their best defensive performance of the season, limiting the Wildcats to just 346 yards. The Raiders had been giving up close to 500 yards per game.
