Commitment Live Report: Darrion Flowers

TCU commit Darrion Flowers and his Sam Houston teammates took on rival Arlington Bowie Thursday night.

Player: Darrion Flowers
School: Arlington Sam Houston
Position: WR
Rating:
Rank: Scout.com No. 110 CB

EYEBALL TEST:

Flowers isn't quite 5-foot-10, but what he lacks in height he certainly matches in speed.

GAME EVAL:

Although recruited as a cornerback and return specialist by the Frogs, Flowers didn't get any action on the defensive side of the ball against Bowie as the Texans lost 28-27. As a receiver, Flowers was targeted nine times and he hauled in 6 catches but was held to just 38 yards. Bowie did a good job of not allowing Flowers to beat them vertically, however, Sam Houston had a couple of missed opportunities where Flowers was open that they quarterback just missed on. Flowers runs good routes and catches the ball well. Despite his smaller frame, Flowers uses his body well to shield defenders away from a pass. Obviously with 10.27 speed in the 100-meter, Flowers is a vertical threat and in my opinion his best asset at the next level will be at receiver and special teams.
