Jaelan Austin - South Grand Prairie

South Grand Prairie improved to 3-2 on the season and 1-0 in district play with an impressive 56-27 win over Midlothian. Austin hauled in his sixth touchdown reception of the year and also rushed for 49 yards on 3 carries.

GAME STATS: 5 catches, 79 yards, 1 TD; 3 rush, 49 yards

SEASON STATS: 24 catches, 496 yards, 6 TD; 8 rushes, 78 yards

Joseph Broadnax - Dallas Bryan Adams

Broadnax and his Bryan Adams teammates lost their third consecutive game and first game in district with a 21-0 loss to Carrollton Newman Smith. The Cougars held Newman Smith to just 276 yards, but the offense only managed 144 total yards.

Alec Dunham - Coldspring

Dunham and his Coldspring teammates improved to 3-2 on the season with a thrilling 38-35 win over Rosenberg Terry. Dunham had a huge game in the win; collecting 12 tackles and intercepting a pass.

GAME STATS: 12 tackles, 1 INT

SEASON STATS: 44 tackles, 3 forced fumbles, 1 TFL, 1 INT


Darrion Flowers – Arlington Sam Houston

Flowers and his Sam Houston teammates lost a heartbreaker to rival Bowie; 28-27. The Texans came into the game as big underdogs but kept the game close all night. Flowers had 6 receptions in the loss.

GAME STATS: 6 catches, 38 yards; 1 rush, 6 yards

SEASON STATS: 16 catches, 262 yards; 6 rushes, 46 yards

TEAM RECORD: 3-1 (0-1 District)

Jeff Gladney - New Boston

New Boston rolled to their fourth consecutive victory of the season with a dominating 38-6 win over De Kalb. The win has pushed the Lions to a 4-1 record and No. 4 ranking in class 3A.




Tre'vontae Hights - Yoakum

Hights had a huge game as Yoakum won their fourth game of the year with a 51-26 win over Gonzales. The win equaled the win total for the Bulldogs in 2013. Hights ran wild in the game, running for 238 yards and 3 touchdowns.

GAME STATS: 4-for-6, 87 yards, 1 TD; 16 rush, 238 yards 3 TD; 8 tackles, 3 PBU

SEASON STATS: 25-for-49, 409 yards, 5 TD, 1 INT; 63 rush, 737 yards, 10 TD; 15 tackles, 1 INT, 3 PBU


Cordel Iwuagwu - Spring Westfield

Spring Westfield won their third game of the season in a close one over Montgomery; 20-6 in the district opener for both. Westfield. Although the Mustangs won, they only managed a season-low 311 offensive yards, including only 123 on the ground.

Tony James - Arlington Bowie

James and his Bowie teammates survived a close test last week as they defeated rival Sam Houston 28-27. James tossed a 40-yard touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter to secure the win for the Volunteers.

GAME STATS: 6-of-9, 87 yards passing. 1 TD; 7 rushes, 53 yards, 1 TD

SEASON STATS: 36-of-60, 818 yards, 8 TD; 40 rushes, 312 yards, 3 TD

Julius Lewis - Mansfield

Mansfield opened district play with a tough 20-17 loss to Duncanville. The Tigers led for most of the ball game and had a 17-7 lead going into the fourth quarter. However, 13 unanswered points from Duncanville proved too much. The Tiger secondary also allowed a season-high 282 passing yards.


SEASON STATS: 16 tackles, 4 PBU; 7 carries, 38 yards; 95-yard KO RET

Breylin Mitchell - Round Rock

Mitchell and his Round Rock teammates cruised to their fourth victory of the season and second in district play with a dominating 39-21 win over Pflugerville.



TEAM RECORD: 4-1 (2-0 District)

Niko Small - Arlington Bowie

Two fourth quarter interceptions from Small helped secure a thrilling 28-27 victory for Arlington Bowie over Sam Houston. Small’s first interception set up a touchdown pass that put the Volunteers ahead 28-21. His second came as time expired to lock down the win.

GAME STATS: 10 tackles, 2 INT

SEASON STATS: 46 tackles, 3 INT, blocked PAT, blocked FG, 1 FR

TEAM RECORD: 3-1 (1-0 District)

Jonathan Song - FW All Saints

All Saints is on a roll, winning their third consecutive game with a 48-13 win over Country Day. The win helps the Saints remain undefeated in SPC play. Song was a force; particularly on kickoffs as he kicked 6 touchbacks on the night.

GAME STATS: 4-of-4 extra points;

SEASON STATS: 20-of-21 extra points; 3-of-3 FG; season long of 51

TEAM RECORD: 3-2 (3-0 SPC)

Jarrison Stewart - Mesquite Horn

Horn opened district play with a big 42-21 win over rival Mesquite. It was the third win of the season for the Jaguars and marked the return of Stewart, who had missed the previous two games. Stewart hauled in a 66-yard touchdown on the night.

GAME STATS: 2 catches, 79 yards, 1 TD

SEASON STATS: 12 catches, 192 yards, 2 TD

TEAM RECORD: 3-1 (1-0 District)

J.F. Thomas - Dallas South Oak Cliff

South Oak Cliff won their second game of the season in big fashion as the Bears rolled to a 71-0 win over Molina to open district play. Thomas recorded his fifth 100-yard game of the season and added three touchdowns in the win.

GAME STATS: 3 catches, 121 yards, 3 TD

SEASON STATS: 27 catches, 597 yards, 9 TD

TEAM RECORD: 2-3 (1-0 District)

Semaj Thomas - FW Southwest

Southwest won their first game of the season with a district win over Western Hills; 21-13. The Raiders defense held Western Hills to just 229 yards of total offense.

Mike Freeze

Freeze is no longer at Graham and is spending his senior season at Weatherford High School.


Jonathan Marshall - Shepherd

Marshall and his Shepherd teammates had a bye last week.


SEASON STATS: 14 tackles, 4 sacks, 1 fumble recovery


Brennen Wooten - Marble Falls

Marble Falls improved to 3-2 and 1-1 in district play with a 35-14 win over Dripping Springs. Wooten had another big night throwing for 398 yards and two touchdowns.

GAME STATS: 15-of-26, 398 yards, 2 TD

SEASON STATS: 101-of-177, 1,774 yards, 13 TD, 3 INT; 20 rushes, 124 yards, 3 TD
