School: North Mesquite
EYEBALL TEST:At 6-foot-5, 260-pounds, Delance has the size needed to play on the offensive line. At 260-pounds, the rising prospect has plenty of room to add weight before he gets to college.
North Mesquite lost to Mesquite Horn 43-19, but Delance did what he could to keep the Stallions in the ball game. The game was actually tied at 13 all at the half thanks to the up front blocking from Delance and the rest of his line teammates. Delance didn't allow a sack on the day when the Stallions dropped back to pass, and when they decided to run he did a good job staying on his block and creating running lanes on the edge. Delance showed good feet on the night, if he is to improve on anything it's not getting caught on holds. He does a really good job of getting leverage underneath the defensive lineman's pads, but he needs to release his block a bit sooner. He could get called for holds in the future. But overall, it's no surprise at all that he's getting the interest he has so far. By this time next year many people will be talking about him as being one of the better offensive line prospects in the Midlands region, if not the country.
