Delance Impressed with TCU
Mesquite (TX) North Mesquite 2016 offensive lineman Jean Delance has seen a meteoric rise in his recruitment in recent weeks as he’s becoming one of the most sought after lineman in Texas. The 6-foot-5, 270-pounder has added seven offers in the last month picking up offers from Texas Tech, Georgia Southern, Arizona State, Mississippi State, Ohio State, TCU and most recently Oklahoma State while garnering interest from several others. Delance, who still has another year to go in his recruiting process, is relieved to know his college is already taken care of. “It's a great feeling knowing I've eliminated a lot of stress for my mother having multiple chances with coaches offering to pay for my college,” he said. TCU was among the first schools to offer the talented 2016 prospect. Delance was overjoyed to receive the Frogs offer; as was his mother. Astounding, I couldn't believe it,” Delance said of receiving the Frogs offer. “My mom strongly loves TCU to begin with and as somewhere she sees her son, it's crazy! I never thought that it would be my mom’s favorite school that offered me.” Delance had a chance to see two of his offers up close as he visited TCU two weeks ago to watch the Frogs take on Texas Tech. “(It was) crazy, the environment was as great as college ball gets,” he said. “And the fans help recruit the players they see are recruits I loved it.” A return visit for Delance could be in the works and could come as early as Saturday when the Frogs take on Kansas State in a top 10 battle. For now, Delance likes everything he sees in the Frogs; especially on offense. “(It’s) awesome being ranked #7 if I'm not mistaken and putting up 82 points is phenomenal. Coach (Patterson) didn't think they performed up to their potential; I mean that was crazy,” Delance said. “The o-line moved swiftly up and down the field; they’re very athletic guys I could fit in very, very well.”
