Bolisomi Close to Frogs Offer?
Just over a month ago, David Bolisomi was a little-known prospect just hoping to garner interest from a few schools. Now a few weeks later, the mammoth lineman has not only received interest, he’s becoming one of the biggest rising prospects in North Texas. The 6-foot-6, 292-pounder out of Denton (TX) Ryan has added offers from San Diego State and North Texas while receiving strong interest from Oklahoma State, BYU, Boise State and TCU. Bolisomi says the new interest is welcomed. “It’s great, I just got a call from Boise State the other day and they want me to come up there,” he said. “BYU called me and obviously Oklahoma State. It’s been wild.” Bolisomi visited Oklahoma State last weekend as the Cowboys took on Texas. Before that, he made two trips over to TCU’s campus; one for the Frogs’ game against Kansas State and the next just to visit again with the coaching staff. Bolisomi is building a strong relationship with Frogs’ offensive line coach Jarrett Anderson. The big lineman feels the Frogs are very close to extending an offer. “They’re getting really close to offering; they’re coming to see me tomorrow,” he said of TCU. “He’s a great coach and great man; I like everything that he’s telling me right now.” When asked what it’d feel like receiving an offer from the Frogs, Bolisomi didn’t mince words when giving his answer. It’s an answer that Frog fans should enjoy reading. “It’d be great, as soon as I get an offer I’m probably going to commit,” Bolisomi said of the Frogs. “It’s an awesome place and it’s where I want to be the next four to five years. When I went and watched them play and got the feel of how they play; it was amazing. The Carter was amazing with the fans.” Proximity is just one factor that makes TCU intriguing to Bolisomi. He says the coaches and winning tradition also help give the Frogs a boost in his mind. “It’s not only that; Coach Patterson is one of the best coaches in the Big 12 and it’s a winning program,” he said. “It’s all of those things put together that makes it great.” For now, Bolisomi waits patiently for the Frogs’ offer. In the meantime, he has visits planned for San Diego State and Boise State. A visit to BYU could also be in the works. “I’m going to San Diego State on December 11th and Boise State,” he said. “BYU wants me to come up there.” Of course Bolisomi says if the Frogs come through with the offer and he ends the process, he won’t feel a need to visit those schools.
