English Enjoys In Home Visit with TCU

The #6 TCU Horned Frogs are in on several big time targets as National Signing Day draws near. Where do they stand with Desoto lineman Bryce English?

The TCU Horned Frogs are currently on fire on the recruiting trail and as signing day for the class of 2015 nears, the activity is heating up. HornedFrogBlitz.com caught up with Bryce English, Desoto’s fierce defensive tackle, to get the latest on his recruitment. With Coach Luper visiting recently, we wanted to know just where things stand with the talented defender and the Frogs.

”It went good and Coach Luper came out” said English. “He spoke with my mom and dad and they like what they see over at TCU.”

”We talked a lot about TCU but we also talked about officials” he said. “I was supposed to take an official this Friday, but they had too many recruits coming in so I’ll probably have to reschedule for after that.”

English went on to explain that TCU wanted to be able to show him more attention when he comes for an official visit so they both felt like it was better to reschedule for another day.

With offers from programs such as TCU, Arkansas, UCLA, Texas, Iowa, Arizona State and more, English is beginning to get new interest as signing day gets closer. One thing is evident here and it’s the fact that English is going to be a steal for whichever team he chooses. Will it be TCU? Will it be Arkansas? Or are a couple of newcomers making an impression?

”I just got off the phone with Washington today and I really like them” he said. “The only official that I know that I’m taking for now is Arizona State.”

”Right now TCU, Arizona State, Arkansas, Washington, North Carolina and Wake Forest are recruiting me the hardest. I just have the one visit set up because I’m not sure who else is going to offer from here on so I really haven’t set a deadline.”

English says that he has a strong relationship with Coach Luper and that he’s very impressed with the style of defense that TCU plays. He said when Luper visited, it felt like family.

”He brought up football and TCU’s philosophy and their attacking defense” said the Desoto lineman. “He also brought up Chucky Hunter leaving and he said the defensive tackle spot is going to be up for grabs.”

With signing day just two months away, the pressure is building for the remaining recruits looking for a home. English says he’s very comfortable at TCU.

”They had some big games this year” he said. “It’s an electrifying atmosphere and they have electrifying fans. They really get in to it.”

”They’re just an overall great team and the players like to get after it” said English. “They should be in the top four and be in the playoffs but you know how that goes”.
