The TCU Horned Frogs are off to a blistering start with 6 commitments for the 2016 class and they hope their hot streak continues with Euless Trinity star defensive lineman, Chris Daniels. Daniels, a 6’4” 285 pound defensive tackle, says TCU has made a favorable impression on him early on. HornedFrogBlitz.com caught up with the talented defender and got his thoughts on the recruiting process.
”Yes sir, it’s been picking up a little bit” said Daniels. “Just last Tuesday, I picked up an offer from OU and a couple of people have been coming by and talking to me and invited me to junior day (Baylor).”
With offers on the table from TCU, OU, USC, and Western Michigan, Daniels is a highly coveted prospect. As far as TCU is concerned, they just need to keep recruiting him the way they have been. According to the big lineman, the Frogs have shown him a lot of love and they have made him feel like he’s already part of the family.
Euless Trinity teammate, Tipa Galea’I, committed to TCU just last week and Daniels says that he’s getting a lot of positive feedback from his Trojan defensive line mate.
”He just tells me that TCU always had faith in him before the season even started” said Daniels. “Before everything got big and we were getting a lot of attention, they were always there from day one.”
”That’s the thing he told me to look out for” he said. “TCU has always been there before all of the other colleges came by and everything good started happening for us and he said that’s why he committed to them.”
With a high school teammate already committed to the Frogs, Daniels says his familiarity with the program and the fact that they’re close to home means a lot to him.
”That’s the reason TCU is number one on my list” said Daniels, referring to the Frogs getting on him early and showing him a lot of love. “Right now, everything I’m looking for in a college is at TCU.”
”They show me love and just the way the program is and the fact that it’s a Christian school, I just really like TCU” he said. “I’m going to wait a little bit longer and talk with my family because my dad thinks it’s a little bit early to commit so I’ll probably wait until after Christmas break sometime but TCU is definitely number one.”
As far as TCU’s early success with their 2016 class, Daniels has taken notice. As a matter of fact, current 2016 commit, Brennen Wooten, keeps Daniels in the loop every time the Frogs pick up another 2016 commitment.
”Brennen Wooten actually texts me from time to time and tells me who all has committed” he said. “He tells me how he wants me to be part of the family and we both like how the coaches always show us love.”
”My birthday was Thursday and I had a lot of TCU coaches tell me happy birthday and I liked that” he said. “Mainly though, they show me a lot of love and just let me know that if football doesn’t work out, the education will help me out. We don’t even have to talk about football but they let me know that the education will help me in the future.”
While Daniels hasn’t pulled the trigger yet, it sounds like the Horned Frogs are in great shape with the fierce defender. Stay logged on to HornedFrogBlitz.com for the latest with Daniels and to see if the Frogs add yet another dynamic player to their 2016 commit list.
