Recruits React to TCU's big win
No.6 TCU sent a message to the rest of the nation on New Year’s Eve as they dominated No.9 Ole Miss; 42-3. It wasn't just a win; it was an utter beating the Frogs handed to the Rebels. The Frogs, who many felt were wrongly left out of the four team playoff, dismantled an Ole Miss team that had wins over No.1 Alabama and then-No.4 Mississippi State. The Frogs forced four turnovers in the win, intercepting Bo Wallace three times and forcing another fumble. Ole Miss would amass just 139 total yards; including an abysmal 19 rushing yards. Meanwhile, the offense racked up 423 yards against a defense many considered to be one of the best in the SEC. With the win, the Frogs will undoubtedly surge into the top 4 in the 2014 final rankings. It will be the second time in five seasons that the Frogs will finish in the top 5. Although some around the country might’ve been surprised by the Frogs’ big win; a few were anything but surprised. Those individuals happen to be commits to the Frogs 2015 and 2016 classes and it goes without saying; the win has each of them ready to get on campus to continue the tradition. HornedFrogBlitz.com caught up with several of the commitments to get their thoughts on the Frogs dominating performance. Tony James "That was a statement game, both defense and offense handle business! Showed they should have been in the college football playoffs ...Can't wait to be a part of it." Niko Small "Im not surprised at all. Offense is too fast, defense is too strong. That's TCU football baby." Sewo Olonilua "That was great to watch! They played with their hair on fire. They should be doing the same thing to Alabama tomorrow." Joe Broadnax "I can't wait to put on the TCU uniform. Best bowl game." Montrel Wilson "They had me liveeeee...haha! They played with a lot of energy." Tipa Galea'i "It makes me even more excited to be a Frog! I can't wait to contribute to the TCU football program. Can't thank the man above enough for the blessing and opportunity he has given me. GO FROGS!" Jozie Milton "I'm not shocked at all. TCU is an amazing team and they show true family unlike what a lot of colleges say they have. I'm happy that this shows the SEC isn't everything. Big XII is showing out and I can't wait to spend the next 4 years at TCU." Semaj Thomas "Today’s win shows the world that we were never the #6 team in the playoff rankings. We sent a message to a lot of people out there." Jaelan Austin "The win was a perfect win to show the playoff committee, the fans, the NCAA, and all other spectators that we are a serious program and in my opinion a top 3 team no question. It showed that not only does the Big 12 play real football, but also that TCU isn't some team that has been getting lucky, they have players that have been working their tails off and always have a chip on their shoulder to prove the nation wrong. If this doesn't tell people to stop overlooking us I don't know what will. And last, this is just another testament to how great coaches Coach Burns, Cumbie, Meacham and most importantly Coach Patterson. They have done an amazing job with turning the program around and creating a lethal offense and that's exactly why I'm a Horned Frog." Jonathan Song "Great win for TCU. Makes me even more excited to learn from Jaden and be a part of a great program." Jarrison Stewart "I knew it from the get go that TCU was going to show they belong in the playoffs and they did that. I'm just glad to be a part of the Horned Frog family. Go Frogs!" David Bolisomi (pictured above) "I'm so happy right now. The Frogs clearly just proved that they should have been in the top 4. The defense played outstanding, they made a lot of awesome plays. It was crazy, I'm proud of the Frogs and I can't wait to get out there and play with the Frogs." Dylan Thomas “The win was incredible, the energy that they play with, how coachable the players are. It all played a role on the outcome of the game and they just came out on fire.” Brennen Wooten “TCU dominated in all phases of the game! The big win gives them momentum going into the off-season. I believe this is just the beginning!” KeShawn Somerville “I wasn’t surprised about the win. They’ve had great success this whole season and not making the playoffs just gave them more momentum to win this game. I’m ready to be a part of it.” Alec Dunham “I'm just excited to have an opportunity to be a part of it next season. (I’m) ready to put in the work.” Deshawn Raymond "It was more than I expected! I knew they were going to win but not a blow out like that. Their defense played nearly perfect and I can't wait to be a part of that. They showed everybody they deserved to be in the playoffs." One of the Frogs key remaining targets for the 2015 class is Gladewater 5-star defensive tackle Daylon Mack. Mack recently named the Frogs in his top two a few days ago, along with LSU. Although he didn’t get to see the Peach Bowl in its entirety due to him participating in Under Armour game practices, he was still impressed with what he saw. "They dominated the entire game! I didn't get to see all of it because of the skills challenge (he's at Under Armour game) but what I saw was very, very impressive.
