Cuffee Planning Another TCU Visit

Waco (TX) High 2016 cornerback Eric Cuffee plans to visit TCU later this month.

Over 100 prospects made their way to L.D. Bell high school on Sunday to participate in the ‘invite-only’ Next Level Athlete Top 100 Showcase.

Among the list of impressive prospects was Waco High 2016 cornerback Eric Cuffee. The 6-foot, 190-pounder is already a four-star by Scout.com and ranked as the No.18 cornerback prospect in the nation. He also comes in at No.191 in the Scout.com Top 300 for the 2016 class.

Cuffee didn’t disappoint on Sunday as he displayed excellent footwork in position drills while also locking down receivers in one on one’s.

“I think I did good; I think I could’ve done better in some drills with my footwork and planting,” Cuffee said. “But, I’ll get all of that done before the season; I’ll be ready.”

Currently Cuffee holds offers from North Carolina and Cal and is also receiving strong interest from TCU, Ole Miss, Oklahoma State and Oklahoma. He says the Frogs, Cowboys and Rebels are showing the most interest.

“Recruiting is going good; I just got offered by Cal last Friday,” he said. “It’s been going real good; I should have a lot of offers in the spring.”

Cuffee made it to a couple of TCU games this season and has been high on their recruiting radar for some time. Although he doesn’t hold an offer from the Frogs just yet; he hopes to receive one soon.

“I should be getting offered hopefully on junior day or in the spring,” he said. “They want me to decide whether or not I want to go there before next February.” After the Frogs impressive 12-1 season and their 42-3 romp over Ole Miss in the Peach Bowl, Cuffee was impressed with TCU’s season; particularly on defense.

“The performance they had on defense was very good this season,” he said of TCU. “It’s perfect and a good defense. The game against Ole Miss, what can you say, they just blew them out.”

With the exception of TCU, Cuffee hasn’t nailed down any junior day visits. At the moment, he’s not in a big hurry to make a decision on anything; stating everyone is on equal ground in his recruitment.

“Everyone is even right now,” Cuffee finished. “Everyone.”
