No Change At the top for Daniels

Euless (TX) Trinity defensive tackle Chris Daniels says TCU is still the top school on his list.

By now, if you’ve followed Chris Daniels recruitment, you know it’s no secret when it comes to him naming his top school. The Euless (TX) Trinity defensive lineman has had the same school at the top of his list for several months and to this day his favorite remains unchanged.

That favorite is TCU.

Other schools have begun to show the 6-foot-3, 280-pounder interest in recent weeks. Just a couple of weeks ago Daniels added his fourth offer when Oklahoma offered. Daniels also holds offers TCU, USC and Western Michigan.

Daniels doesn’t hesitate in naming his favorite. However, he’s not rushing into a decision just yet because he and his family want to make certain he is making the right choice for his future.

“My dad just wants me to wait; he doesn’t want me to decommit or anything,” he said. “They’ve asked me when I’m going to make my decision. I’m trying to take it day by day; right now TCU is my #1 but I’m still going to wait.”

Proximity and Daniels ongoing relationship with the TCU coaches are the biggest reasons the Frogs remain as his top school.

“TCU is my #1 because it’s close to home, they show me a lot of love and telling me that they want me,” he said.

Daniels admits that the defense, particularly the play of the defensive line, is another reason the Frogs continue to stand out. He further noted that the Frogs’ thumping over Ole Miss opened his eyes even more.

“That defense opened my eyes a lot more toward them,” he said. “That’s one of the reasons they’re #1, because of how their defensive line is doing.”

Although Daniels is taking his time with his decision, the Frogs have someone in his ear nearly every day about the program; Tipa Galea’i. The former teammates talk every day about the possibility of Daniels joining Galea’I, who committed to TCU last month.

“We’ve talked about it; he wants me to be part of the Frog family,” Daniels said. “Just the other day I told him I was going to miss him when he leaves and he told me I won’t miss him once I commit to TCU.”
