Chatman Recaps TCU visit

Baton Rouge (LA) Central receiver Terrell Chatman visited TCU last weekend.

TCU hosted a few uncommitted prospects last weekend and among the recruits in town was Baton Rouge (LA) Central receiver Terrell Chatman.

The 6-foot-3, 180-pounder is one of the top receivers in the south and has been a commitment to Miami since July. However, Chatman has recently opened his recruitment and considers his commitment to Miami “soft” at the moment. In addition to his visit to TCU, Chatman will make an official visit to Arizona State this weekend and Miami on the 30th.

From the players to the coaches, TCU’s program made a good impression on Chatman.

"Besides the campus and its surroundings being amazing, I really liked the coaching staff and also the players,” he said. “I got a chance to hang out with some of them, but everyone just seems like a family."

TCU’s offense was one of the top in the nation in 2014 and as a receiver Chatman sees the opportunity to make plays in the wide open system. It’s an offense he feels he could see himself fitting in.

"I love the type of offense they run because it gives receivers a chance to make plays with them airing the ball out a lot,” he said. “I would fit in at the outside receiver position, and showed us a few schemes they run on offense."

Aside from the players and coaches, Chatman spent a lot of time on his visit around 2015 signee Deshawn Raymond. The fellow Louisiana native is already on TCU’s campus as an early enrollee and according to Chatman, Raymond made sure he knew TCU was the place to be.

“Yeah he did, he basically was saying that TCU is where it’s at and it’s a good opportunity for us,” Chatman said.

Chatman says TCU, Arizona State and Miami are all equal at the moment.
