Weekend Official Visitors

TCU will host more prospects this weekend as they continue to put the finishing touches on their 2015 class.

TCU’s 2015 recruiting class currently sits with 22 commitments in the fold and has a very limited number of slots available. Last week the Frogs hosted three players currently not on their commit list and it’s much of the same this weekend as again they host some players currently uncommitted or committed to other programs.

On the slate for this weekend’s visitors are Arico Evans, Jonah Moi and Kavontae Turpin. Joining the list are current commits Joe Broadnax, Breylin Mitchell, Jeff Gladney and Jonathan Song.

Official visitors:

Arico Evans, DB, 6-foot-2, 190-pounds; Dallas (TX) Hillcrest

Evans is currently committed to Kansas but that hasn't stopped him from visiting other programs. Evans visited Texas Tech last weekend and will visit Arkansas on January 30th. Evans received an in-home visit from Frogs head coach Gary Patterson and receivers coach Rusty Burns earlier this week. A talented athlete, Evans is being recruited by the Frogs as a defensive back. With great size and athleticism, Evans is the prototypical safety Patterson is always on the lookout for.

Jonah Moi, OLB, 6-foot-4, 235-pounds; Riverside (CA) C.C.

Moi is currently committed to Washington State but has visited BYU and has plans to visit Hawaii on January 30th. Moi just received an offer from the Frogs last week so the interest from the Frogs has increased in recent weeks. Moi had an in-home visit with Frogs' linebackers coach DeMontie Cross earlier this week. With the Frogs losing three linebackers to graduation, landing Moi would give the unit an older player who has college experience.

Kavontae Turpin, WR, 5-foot-9, 165-pounds; Monroe (LA) Neville

Turpin is a new name on the Frogs' recruiting radar and is one of the fastest players from the Bayou state. Turpin is slot receiver all the way and a return specialist. With In the Frogs' high-flying offense, you can never have too many playmakers. Turpin will also visit Texas Tech following his official visit to TCU.
