Okudah Talks TCU Offer

TCU extended an offer to South Grand Prairie 2017 prospect Jeffrey Okudah earlier this week. HornedFrogBlitz.com caught up with the four-star to get his reaction on the offer.

TCU hosted several top prospects last weekend when they held their first two junior days. While the list of talented prospects consisted mostly of 2016 prospects, a few 2017 prospects made their way on campus during the weekend.

One of those 2017 prospects was South Grand Prairie defensive back Jeffrey Okudah. The 6-foot-1, 192-pounder is already regarded as a four-star prospect by Scout.com in the 2017 rankings.

Iowa, Nebraska, Oregon State, Texas Tech and TCU have already offered Okudah. For the rising prospect, the early attention makes him realize his dreams are coming true.

“It's a dream come true, but I also realize if I don't work harder than others and stay humble I could waste my blessings,” he said.

Okudah has visited TCU’s campus twice already; he visited earlier in the season when the Frogs defeated Oklahoma. Once again, Okuda was impressed with the visit.

“It was great, probably my best time there second to the OU Game,” he said.

As for receiving the Frogs’ offer, Okudah said it meant a lot coming from TCU head coach Gary Patterson.

“It was a blessing,” he said. “It meant a lot when Coach Patterson said he liked how I carried myself.”

Okudah also likes what he sees in the Frogs.

“I think they are a great team because they have bought in to the team's concept,” he said. “And Coach Patterson's ability to develop talent is crazy.”

The Frogs have a helping hand in their corner with Okudah’s former teammate Jaelan Austin doing all he can to convince the 2017 prospect that TCU is the place to be.

“He's been recruiting hard,” Okudah said of Austin. “He tells me I got to commit soon,” he said.
