Commit Refresher: Defensive End

With the camps kicking off this week for all levels of football that means signing day is getting ever so close. Let's take a look at the two current 2016 commits that are projected to play cornerback.

Currently TCU has two defensive end commits.

Gary Overshown, Mesquite Horn HS, 6-4 210 Quickness off the ball. That’s the one trait of Overshown that sticks out the most. He has the perfect frame to put on bulk and at the next level, bulk is what you need especially in the Big 12 if you are going to be coming from the edge. In the meantime, his laser-timed 4.68 forty will be put to use. As a junior, Overshown racked up 44 tackles, eight sacks, six quarterback hurries and two forced fumbles.

Jonathan Marshall, Shepherd HS, 6-3 250 As a top 10 defensive end in the state, Marshall using his body well in the box. Offensive lineman know within his first three steps if they are beat or not. Marshall’s junior season was about as good of a one you’d want from a defensive end – 71 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, and five forced fumbles. His sophomore season ended with 22 tackles for loss and five sacks.
