Week One TCU Commit Performances

With Week One in the books, HornedFrogInsider takes a look at how TCU commits performed over the weekend.

2016 Commits

OT Austin Myers, Manvel: Anchored offensive line that put up 441 total yards of offense in 29-26 loss to Spring Westfield.

QB Brennen Wooten, San Angelo Central: Completed 24-of-40 for 316 yards, 4 TD in 42-0 win over Del Rio, in just three quarters of play. Wooten’s Bobcats won 42-0.

WR Courtney Lark, Bellaire: Lark caught a 53-yard touchdown pass, hauled in two drive-saving-catches of 34 and 14 yards in 30-20 loss to Fort Bend Elkins. 

QB Deriq King, Manvel: Completed 18-of-26 passes for 229 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT through the air. Also had 17 carries for 103 yards, 2 TD on the ground in 29-26 loss to Spring Westfield.

DE Gary Overshown, Mesquite Horn: Horn lost a close one on the road to McKinney Boyd, 41-38.

CB KeShawn Somerville, Henderickson: Somerville and the rest of the defense played well enough to win but the offense struggled. Converse Judson won 12-9.

OLB Sewo Olonilua, Kingwood: Had an interception in 46-0 loss to national power Katy.

OT Kellton Hollins, Zachary (LA): Zachary fell to West Feliciana in the jamboree 14-6.

RB Trayveon Williams, C. E. King: The lone 2016 running back commit scored four times, three different ways, as his team opened 2015 with a 47-20 win over Tomball. He rushed for two TD’s, hauled in a pass for a TD and returned the second half opening kickoff for a TD.

CB Vernon Scott, Mansfield Summit: Scott had a PBU and two tackles on the night in the 48-14 win over Wichita Falls.

2017 Commits

QB Roshauud Paul, Bremond: In a 66-14 rout over Hearne, Paul complete 11-of-16 passes for 182 yards, 3 TD’s while rushing for 86 yards, 2 TD’s on 8 carries.

QB Shawn Robinson, Denton Guyer: Completed just 7-of-22 passes for 75 yards with an interception but made up for it on the ground by picking up 158 yards on 20 carries as Guyer lost to three-time defending state champion Allen.

OG Wes Harris, Aledo: Aledo managed just 75 yards rushing on the night in 31-13 loss to highly-ranked Cedar Hill.
