Horned Frog Insider Staff Picks: TCU vs. SFA

The Horned Frog Insider staff makes their predictions for TCU's matchup against Stephen F. Austin

Brad Hardcastle: TCU is going to play like a team with something to prove. The offense is going to take a lot of deep shots against SFA's secondary. Look for Kolby Listenbee on the fly routes and Josh Doctson just about anywhere downfield. Aaron Green should also rack up a lot of yards coming out of the backfield. The young defense may show their age at time, but I don't think it will be enough for the Jacks to stay in this one. Final score: TCU 55, SFA 17

Mitchell Stehly: Aaron Green has a huge day for the Frogs as he rushes for two touchdowns and catches another. The defense shows their inexperience at times, but SFA only manages to put together 3 or 4 successful drives. Final score: TCU 52, SFA 13

Mike Garland: After a hard fought win over Minnesota, TCU somewhat catches a break this week with Stephen F. Austin. No disrespect to SFA but this one COULD get out of hand. SFA headman, Clint Conque, knows how to win, 113-65 over his career, and SFA does have weapons but still won't be enough. Look for TCU's defensive line to get to SFA quarterback Zach Conque often. Final score: TCU 48, SFA 14

J.D. Moore: I've always said Gary Patterson can turn a refrigerator and a headless chicken into an effective linebacking corps, and he may need to do that this year, starting against SFA. The Lumberjacks are no slouches when it comes to FCS opponents, and TCU's new normal for linebackers will start with a baptism by fire. Points and yards will be given up, but expect the offense to win this one for the Frog. Final score: TCU 56, SFA 20
