The College Football Playoff comittee ranked the Horned Frogs at No.8 in their first set of rankings of the 2015 season.
The Top 4 teams right now are No. 1 Clemson, No. 2 LSU, No. 3 Ohio State and No. 4 Alabama. The first two teams out are No. 5 Notre Dame and No. 6 Baylor. The other team in front of TCU is No.7 Michigan State.
Even though the Frogs were left out of the top 4 this week, there is a lot of football to be played. The Frogs next opponent, Oklahoma State, is ranked No. 14, so a win over the Cowboys could mean that TCU could move up next Tuesday. Alabama will play LSU on Saturday, so the loser of that matchup could also drop behind the Frogs if they can leave Stillwater with a victory.
Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long, who is serving as this year's College Football Committee chairman said TCU was one of the teams that was the hardest to evaluate at this point of the season.
"It's Baylor and TCU because of the schedules and the teams they have played so far."Long said. "They have their strength of schedule in front of them."
