Staff Picks: TCU at Oklahoma State

The Horned Frog Insider staff makes their predictions for TCU's matchup with Oklahoma State

Brad Hardcastle: This game could go a number of different ways. Neither of these teams have faced a ranked opponent this year and have struggled against some of their unranked foes. Both have great offenses, but have been inconsistent on defense. This game will come down to who can make the most stops on defense and the least mistakes on offense. Both of these defense will have trouble defending scrambling quaterbacks Trevone Boykin and J.W. Walsh. Their secondaries will also struggle defending the pass against really good wide receivers. With that said, I believe TCU is the more complete team in this matchup. I think Oklahoma State is a lot better than a lot of people are giving them credit for, but after watchig their defense against Texas Tech on Saturday, I have some serious doubts about their ability to stop the Frogs air raid attack. TCU wins in a shootout. Prediction: TCU 58, OK State 45

Mitchell Stehly: I may be in the minority on this one but I think TCU stays in control of this game. Sure, OSU fans will have the place rocking, but Trevone Boykin and the TCU offense are just playing on an entirely different level. I think OSU's offense has some success but TCU's defense forces some turnovers to get out of Stillwater 9-0. Final Score Prediction: TCU 50, OK State 36

J.D. Moore: This is definitely the best team TCU has faced so far, and it'll be in one of the most hostile places the Horned Frogs will play this season. Mason Rudolph is going to make this game far too stressful for TCU fans, and don't be surprised when James Washington peels off for several big receiving plays. TCU's offensive is going to have to win this game by out-slugging the Cowboys secondary with deep passes and pounding the rock against a fierce defensive line. The red zone will make all the difference though, which will allow the Horned Frogs to score often and keep ahead of Oklahoma State. Frogs with the win, 49-45.

Mike Garland:

This has all the makings of another shootout. Back and forth battle until the forth when a key turn over helps either team. Playing on the road against an opponent of this caliber that's playing inspired ball..... Tough one to call. Since it's in the Cowboys house I'll go with them. Prediction: OSU 35, TCU 31
