TCU Receives DE Transfer From Louisiana Monroe

TCU picked a transfer a promising redshirt freshman defensive end.

Louisiana Monroe football coach Matt Viator confirmed that defensive end Ben Banogu has transferred to TCU.

Banogu, a native of McKinney, Texas, started all 13 games for the Warhawks as a redshirt freshman. He was named to the All-Sun Belt Newcomer team after recording 45 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss and five sacks in 2015.

The rising sophomore will have two years of eligibility after he sits out next season due to NCAA transfer rules.

Viator said he is former defensive end came to directly to him for his release.

“He had some circumstances that went a little bit beyond football but he came in and handled it in a first-class way so we agreed to help him out,” Viator said.
