TCU took the finale of a three-game series with Texas Saturday afternoon in what was the Frogs' first series loss of the season.
The Frogs totaled 14 hits on the day led by a pair of three-hit performance from Luken Baker and Elliot Barzilli.
Starting pitcher Rex Hill gave up five hits and three runs before being relieved by Brain Trieglaff with two outs in the second inning. Trieglaff allowed two runs before giving way to a combined shutout performance of Ryan Burnett, Preston Guillory and Durbin Feltman.
The Frogs rebounded following consecutive losses to the Longhorns to start the series. In game one TCU's defense had four errors en route to a 5-4 loss. In game two Texas handed TCU their first shutout of the season in a 2-0 loss despite a strong outing from starting pitcher Brain Howard who gave up two runs and five hits over the course of eight innings.
TCU's win Saturday improved their record to18-5 overall and 4-2 in conference. The Frogs will remain on the road for the next four games with a weekday matchup at UT Arlington Tuesday and a three-game series at Wichita State the following weekend.
TCU will resume conference play April 8th with a three game series at Kansas.
