TCU defensive end Josh Carraway has been named to the watch list for the Ted Hendricks Award, presented to the nation's top defensive end.
Carraway is the Big 12’s only returning first-team all-conference defensive selection from last season. He is on the 2016 Preseason All-Big 12 Team.
A Flower Mound, Texas, native, he led TCU last season with nine sacks and three fumble recoveries, including one returned for a touchdown in the win over Baylor. Carraway totaled 4 1/2 sacks, including 2 1/2 versus Oklahoma, over the final three games. He placed second on the Horned Frogs with 11 1/2 tackles for loss among 47 stops.
Carraway received his TCU degree in May 2016 and will play this season as a graduate student.
Carraway also appears on watch lists for the Chuck Bednarik Award, Bronko Nagurski Trophy and Lott IMPACT Trophy.
TCU two-time consensus All-American and now Buffalo Bill Jerry Hughes was the 2009 recipient of the Ted Hendricks Award.
