A little hard work can go a long way.
After failing to land a scholarship offer out of high school, College of the Canyons (Cali.) wide receiver Marquise Brown has been fielding calls from schools for his services.
On Tuesday TCU jumped in the mix.
Brown now has offers from schools such as Arizona State, Cal, West Virginia, Washington State and Tulane to match the Frogs’ scholarship nod.
“I really like the TCU offense and the tradition they got there,” said Brown. “I’m working on a visit there right now.”
Brown has indicated he will also visit Cal, West Virginia and Washington State. The junior college receiver has seen what TCU has done with wide receiver Taj Williams this year – a former junior college product himself.
“It seems like they will give you the opportunity, you just have to take advantage of it,” said Brown. “I bring a lot of speed and excitement to the field. I really like to get the fans off there feet whenever I get the ball.”
Brown said he is looking for a school who best fits him personally and a coach that can help him get to the next level.
So far this season, Brown has totaled 20 receptions for 393 yards and six touchdowns.null
