Cerritos junior college (California) safety Elijah Walker has decommitted from Kansas State. The TCU prospect visited Fort Worth in December.
Walker had 53 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and an interception in 2016. He is rated the No. 13 junior college product in the country.
“Coach P (Patterson) he keeps it honest. I feel I could trust him in the long run. They use three safeties. He let me know that I could play all three, but they would try to find one that fit me perfect.
“The thing I like about Coach P is that he’s an offensive guy, but Coach spends a lot of time on defense. He was a defensive coodinator. I like that. He doesn’t just let somebody else run it.”
Walker said academics will be the biggest decision in where he transfers in May. He will sign on February 1.
“I’m not a one and done type of guy. I want my degree,” said Walker. “Things like academic support, tutors, are the main thing. Who can help me succeed in that?”
We are reaching out Walking to see if any other visits are planned over the next few weeks.
