After visiting TCU nearly two weeks ago, Katy (Texas) defensive tackle Corey Bethley has pledged to the Frogs. TCU beat out the likes of Oklahoma and Texas A&M for his services.
"There is no doubt that Bethley is a great talent," said Scout.com national recruiting analyst Greg Powers. "The question that surrounds him is what position fits him best on the next level. He plays defensive end in Katy's 3-4 scheme, but is built a bit more like a defensive tackle. As a defensive tackle prospect he is quick off the snap and a relentless pursuer. He will be a guy who is not only a pass stopper, but one who can put pressure on the passer. A skill set that is becoming more and more valuable in the eyes of scouts and coaches. As a defensive end he is a guy who can stand up to the guys trying to set the edge and stop the run game. He is a big hitter and will make exciting tackles."
Bethley has been a recruit has been extremely quiet during the recruiting process.
The three-star prospect gives TCU 13 commits in the 2017 class, with National Signing Day less than a week away.
