After three visits to TCU, South Grand Prairie high school (Tex.) 2018 safety Atanza Vongor has narrowed his list to three schools. https://twitter.com/atanzav/status/836383871985942528
The Frogs, Baylor and Texas should hear within a week or two where Vongor plans to play in 2018. In a previous Scout.com story, Vongor said he would be making an announcement shortly after naming a top three.
"Atanza Vongor is one of the top defensive prospects in the state of Texas for the 2018 class. He's a physical safety with the athleticism to succeed in coverage, but thrive crashing downhill and running the alleys," said Scout.com national recruiting analyst Greg Powers. "Vongor is a hitter who can separate the ball from the receiver or ball-carrier. He's played both sides of the ball during his high school career, but projects best as a safety to the high-major level, because his highlight tape really comes alive on the defensive side where his pursuit angle to the football and closing speed show exactly what type of prospect he will be on the next level."
Vongor enjoyed a strong junior season as he recorded 71 tackles, two interceptions, three forced fumbles, and six pass breakups from his safety position. Vongor also ran for 305 yards and three touchdowns and returned a kickoff for a TD.
