Parkway high school (Louisiana) 2018 prep quarterback Justin Rogers will announce his top seven today, which is expected to be his final seven in the recruiting process.
After multiple trips to Fort Worth, TCU should make the cut. Rogers has been on campus multiple times and the Frogs have been considered an early leader throughout most of the recruiting process.
“It will definitely relieve a lot of stress,” Rogers said in a message to Scout.com regarding him narrowing his list.
As a junior, Rogers accounted for 3,828 total yards and 42 total touchdowns. Rogers threw for 3,021 yards, 31 touchdowns, and eight interceptions, while rushing for 709 yards and 11 TD's.
“He combines great arm strength and velocity with dangerous running ability, especially when passing plays break down and become scrambles,” said Scout.com recruiting analyst Gabe Brooks. Rogers can throw on the run or in the pocket and has a good feel for sensing pressure. He can improve footwork consistency ad ball security. Overall, Rogers is a high-major quarterback with all the tools as he projects to the next level.”
Parkway was eliminated over the weekend from the 5A 2016 Allstate Sugar Bowl/LHSAA Non-Select Prep Classic, falling to Landry-Walker, 61-21. Rogers ran for multiple touchdowns. The Panthers finished with a 12-3 record.
Also considered heavy in the mix is LSU, Ole Miss, North Carolina, Georgia, Oregon, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Houston and Louisville. https://twitter.com/_justinrogers/status/836039229910237184
