TCU set to land VCU graduate transfer big Ahmed Hamdy

TCU is set to land VCU graduate transfer big Ahmed Hamdy.

VCU graduate transfer forward Ahmed Hamdy has committed to TCU. The 6-foot-9 senior will be immediately able to play for the NIT Champions.

The news was broke by Jon Rothstein of CBS.

A native of Egypt, Hamdy averaged 5.9 points and 3.8 rebounds a game in 34 contests - averaging 13.2 minutes a contest.

While he won't be expected to start, the experienced senior should provide quality minutes to a frontcourt who loses Chris Washburn and Karvair Shepherd to graduation. The two combined for 6.8 points and 3.9 rebounds a game, averaging a combined 18 minutes a contest. The move by TCU to sign Hamdy should allow head coach Jamie Dixon to bring four-star center Kevin Samuel along slowly.
