Baylor commit Kalon Barnes picks up a TCU offer

Silsbeee high school wide receiver Kalon Barnes picked up a TCU offer on Wednesday.

Baylor wide receiver commitment Kalon Barnes, from Silsbeee high school, picked up an offer from TCU on Wednesday.  As a junior, Barnes caught 34 passes for 683 yards and eight touchdowns on 20.1 yards per reception.

"Barnes is a big-play receiver who lines up around the formation for his high school team, but may project best as an outside receiver in college," said national recruiting analyst Greg Powers. "Barnes possesses a good frame at 6-foot+ that has ample space for bulk addition. Barnes is a proven vertical threat who can hit the home run. He's also a consistent high-pointer whose frame and body control allow him to win balls in traffic. Barnes is also a threat in the jet/fly game when lined up in the slot."

Barnes committed to Baylor in early May, choosing Waco over offers from Texas A&M, UCLA, Texas Tech, Arizona and more.
