Today BigPurpleNation.com caught up with the newest Horned Frog.

JH: What was your biggest reason that you committed to TCU?

D.J: "Well they were the first one's to offer and that was really important to me. I really liked the coaching staff and recently I took a visit to the campus and I really liked it. It just seemed like a really good school for me to go to. Earlier in the summer I was thinking about waiting and seeing how things would play out but I started to think about it and I didn't think their would be any schools that would offer that would be better then TCU."

JH: Tell me what you know about TCU?

D.J: "Well I met with the coaching staff and I really like them a lot. I know Coach Williamson pretty well and I talked with some of the players when I went down and got see a lot of their campus. They showed me the work out facilities and they showed me around. I realized it's a good place to be."

JH: What are you working on individual level going into your senior season.

D.J: " Well really I want to get a lot stronger and I want to prepare my body for the football season. Also I'm really trying to get a lot quicker. So basically everything physically I'm working on."

JH: What are you benching, squatting, and what is your forty-time right now?

D.J: "Right now I'm benching about 315 pounds and I'm squatting 465. A couple of weeks ago when I ran at TCU I had a 4.56 forty.

JH: When TCU recruited you did they say that they wanted you to play DE or did they have other thoughts?

D.J: "No not necessarily. They said I have enough talent to play both sides of the ball but I won't necessarily. They are not really sure at this point what position they want to be at. They are looking at me as a defensive end on the outside because I have enough quickness, but they are also looking at me for center maybe if I get stronger and bigger."

JH: Now for some fun questions. What are your hobbies?

D.J: "Well of course I love love football. I also do really like track. Last year we went to regionals and I was on the sprint relay 4 x 100 and was the first leg. I also threw shot put and discuss and we went to regionals in all three.

Yendrey also received interest from University of Houston and Rice. Look for mid-season update on D.J. Yendrey from BigPurpleNation.com later in the year.
